Origin Great Britain, 1800's. The Norfolk was not recognized as a seperate breed from the Norwhich Terrier until 1964. Orignally bred in the ninteenth century to control rats and hunt foxes. |

Physical Description Small dog, head is wide and slightly rounded with a strong wedge-shaped muzzle. Eyes are oval, small and dark, they are placed well apart. Ears are drop and v-shaped and slightly rounded at the tips. Chest is wide and deep and the legs are short and strong. Tail is docked and held erect. |
Temperament A good natured dog that makes and excellent companion. They Norfolk Terrier can be a good guard dog and will bark at strangers. They usually do ok with children and other dogs but may be troublesome with cats if not socialized with them early on |
Training The Norwich Terrier needs consistant training.. They usually do learn quickly |
Living Conditions Will do ok living in the city/apartment if exercised |
