Origin
Sweden, 1800's.
This breed was created by Adolf Patrick Hamilton, founder of the swedish kennel club. They were created by crossing varieties of German Beagles with English Foxhounds and Swedish Hounds.

Physical Description
Medium size dog with a rectangular proportions. The heaed is long and the skull is broad with a long, straight rectangular muzzle. The nose is black and the eyes are dark brown. The ears are medium size and drop. The chest is deep and the tail is long and tapered.

Temperament
The Hamilton Hound is even tempered, and a happy companion. They usually do ok with children and other pets if socialized with them early.
