Temperament Extremely agile dog. It works exceptionaly well in thick cover. This breed makes a fine companion getting on well with other dogs and children. They are Affectionate, loyal and intelligent. They make great hunting dogs that can be used to retrieve, flush and even trail game. |
Training Fairly easy to train. They are submissive and positive reinforcement training should be used. Do not use harsh training methods with this breed. |
Living Conditions Apartments are not recommended for this breed. |
Grooming Little attention is needed for the coat, just give an occasional rub down. And bathe when needed. After hunting, the coat may need to be checked for burs and thorns. |
Exercise Needs plenty of outdoor exercise daily, whether on a lead or allowed to run in fenced area. A large fenced yard would be ideal. |
