Physical Description Medium size dog with a wide skull and long muzzle. The ears hang and are set low. The eyes are large and brown in color. The tail is long and set high. |
Temperament Gentle and even tempered, They are friendly with people and children, but they enjoy the company of other dogs.. They can make a good guard dog and although they are rarely kept just as a pet they can make a excellent companion. They do have a strong intinct to chase small animals and should not be allowed off leash as they may run off. |
Training They can be rather difficult to obedience train but need a consistant and determined handler |
Living Conditions Not suitable for apartment/city living. Should only be kept in areas with large property. |
Grooming Little grooming need for this breed. Brush when needed and bathe only when necessary. |
Exercise The English Foxhound needs alot of daily exercise. They should be taken on long daily walks. They also enjoy jogging or running with you and would be the best form of exercise as they are very high energy and can become destructive if not exercised properly. |
