Physical Description
Large, heavy dog. It has a long, narrow head with a tapered black muzzle and a flat skull. The eyes are dark and nose is black. The ears are small and folden or semi-erect. They have a long neck and deep chest. The tail is long and tapers.

Temperament
Friendly and gentle-natured. They are kind to children and they rarely bark.

Training
The Deerhound usually learns quickly and should be too difficult to train.

Living Conditions
Not recommended for apartment/city life.

Brush coat regularly

Exercise
The Deerhound needs alot of daily exercise to keep it happy.
