This breed can live as long as 12 -13 years of age

Physical Description
Small Dog that can be hairless or coated. They have a wedge-shaped head with large erect and triangular ears. Dark almond shaped eyes and a dark nose. They have a thin tail that curves slightly at the end.
The legs of this dog are long, slim and bony.

This breed is loving and friendly with its family and with children. They are also good with other animals. However, they are fragile and should not be kept with small children that might injure them easily.

Use of Positive Reinforcement with treats will usually work well. These dogs love to please their owner. Harsh training should not be used with this breed.

Living Conditions
This breed will do ok in an apartment. They need to be protected in both hot and cold climates

The powderpuff variety needs to be brushed regularly.. The Hairless variety should be bathed regulary with a good shampoo . Pay special attention to the skin for any abnormalities.
You will need to protect the skin on the hairless variety when out in the sun.

The chinese crested should be walked 1-2 times a day.

Coat Texture
The powder puff has thin , long & soft hair. The Hairless variety should only have hair on the head, ankles and tip of tail.

Coat Colors
The chinese crested can be any color. They can be solid, spotted or parti-colored.

2 - 4 puppies are usually born per litter. Pups are born with & without hair.. The chinese crested dogs that have hair are called powderpuff
