Physical Description Medium size, muscular, dog that has a large, broad head with medium size drop ears. The muzzle is strong and slightly tapered. The eyes may be any color or combination of colors. There is a muscular neck and a long, slightly curved tail. |
Temperament A stubborn yet loving family companion. This breed is rather dominant and needs to have a dominant owner or they can become aggressive. The catahoula can be wary of strangers including children who may enter its property.
They take longer to mature then most other breeds usually fully maturing around 2-3 years of age. |

Grooming They are light shedders so a light brushing once a week will help. Ears should be cleaned once a week and nails should be trimmed once a week as well. |
Exercise Exercise daily in a large fenced yard or do agility with this dog. The Catahoula can become destructive if not exercised properly. They will enjoy 30-40 minutes walks each day. |
