Believe to be an ancient dog that has been used by the Inuit of Canada's Arctic region for around one thousand years as a hunting and sled dog.

This breed can live as long as 12-15 years of age

Males: 66-88lbs and 23-28inches at the shoulders

Physical Description
Powerful, athletic. Broad, wedge shaped head with a muzzle that tapers. The ears are erect and triangular, The tail is carried over the back and is heavily feathered. The eyes are dark in color.

Temperament
Intelligent, affectionate and gentle. They bond deeply with their owner and are extremely loyal. They do best in a family without small children. They may have a high prey drive and should not be kept with small animals.

Living Conditions
Would do best with and active owner in a suburban or rural household. They prefer colder climates and can suffer heatstroke if kept in hotter climates

Grooming
Brush at least once a week in non shedding and daily brushing when dog is shedding.

Exercise
Dogs need to be exercised more then just a daily walk, they have an extremely high exercise needs and need an active owner to privide them with what they need.

Thick, dense coat with a soft undercoat.
