The Antebellum Bulldog is a fairly new breed created by the Maxwell Family of Darien, Georgia in the Altamaha River Basin. They are closely related to the American Bulldog. Dogo Argentino, Alaphah Blue Blood Bulldog , American Staffordshire Terrier and Presa Canario are also in the bloodlines

Physical Description
A large well mucled dog. The muzzle and head is much larger than most bulldog breeds. The tail , ears and dewclaws should be kept natural. Ears are a button shape.

The Antebellum Bulldog is intelligent and a good family guardian. They are usually good with small children. They do require a firm handler and should be obedience trained and socialized at an early age.

These dogs are stubborn and can be difficult to train at first.

Living Conditions
This breed would do best in a home with a large fenced yard.

Occasional brushing and bathing only

Antebellum Bulldogs require a lot of daily exercise. Without the proper daily exercise, this breed can become destructive and damage property. If you do not have the time to exercise and properly train this breed, then it is not the breed for you.

Coat Texture
Short & stiff with a soft undercoat

Coat Colors
Dogs are White with or without colored patches of black or brindle
