Physical Description Powerful dog that is heavy boned with a deep chest and muscular body. It has a broad head with triangular, erect ears. The eyes are almond shaped and brown in color. The nose is black, brown or snow. The tail is plummed and is curled over the back. |
Temperament Loyal, friendly and affectionate. The malamute makes and excellent family pet. However they do have a tendancy to be aggressive with other dogs and require firm handling. They may also go after cats or small animals. This breed does howl and enjoys digging |
Living Conditions This breed is not suitable for apartment life. They prefer a colder climate and are content to sleep outdoors |
