Physical Description Small, well-balanced, compact and sturdy. It is square in proportion and has a sistinctive monkeylike expression. The ehad is carried confidently. he chin is prominent and the skull is round and domed. Ears may be natural, erect, semi-erect, drop or cropped erect. Tail is naturally long and curves over the back or is docked and carried erect. |
Temperment Lively & Cheerful little dog. The Affenpinscher will do ok with children and other dogs. However it is wary of strangers making it a good watchdog |
Training Easy to train. These dogs are intelligent and will learn quickly |
Living Conditions This dog will do ok in an apartment |
Grooming Brush two or three times a week.. Never clip the coat, this will ruin it |
Exercise Take for a daily walk to keep it happy |
Coat Texture Coat is dense and rough, shaggier and less harsh on the neck, chest, stomach, and legs. |
Coat Colors Black is the most common and accepted color, but the Affenpinscher does come in a few other coat colors
